Monday, March 12th MAC Aerospace employees enjoyed their first service day as a company. 2018 brought with it the inception of the MAC Aerospace Community Impact Initiative, offering employees various avenues for service within the community. Besides the opportunity to serve in a project with MAC staff family, employees can also enjoy the option of Volunteer Time-off, “Dollars for Doers” grant program, financial gift matching and In-Kind/Financial fundraisers as an office.
The service days, dubbed “MAC Gives BACK”, will take place once a quarter and will be open to all MAC employees and their families. Activities and organizations will vary, based on employee feedback. This quarter led the MAC team to partner with Britepaths in Fairfax, VA. The staff helped staff prepare for their quarterly audit by sorting, weighing and categorizing food used in the emergency food stores offered to families in the program.
Britepaths, formerly Our Daily Bread, offers a multi-faceted approach to caring for the working poor in Fairfax County. Britpaths has two program areas where the goal is to Stabilize Families, through short-term food and financial assistance and to Build Resilience, through mentoring and longer-term guidance for families, helping them move from crisis to stability for the future. They also host seasonal drives accepting school supplies as well as holiday meals and gifts for the children of families in need. You can learn more about Britepaths here: https://britepaths.org/
